5 Fall Color Must Haves

Did you know that it is inevitable for colors to impact our mood?? Color can dictate our moods, emotions, and bodily functions, by using the energy of light.

But the question ultimately is, can the colors we WEAR really affect our mood? Research states YES! Even our stress levels.

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE Fall colors. New seasonal shopping is just an overall great way to refresh your closet.

Now don’t get me wrong, you can wear any color you wish, but it seems more fitting that certain colors just work better for certain seasons. Bright colors mixed with off whites are more of Summer’s colors. Slightly darker colors tend to wash on into the fall season.

So let's talk about must-have fall colors for 2021 and what they may do for your mood!!

1. Dark Red

Or as I see the superb color of the perfect glass of wine!!

What better color to start with?? Dark Red has so many wonderful things about it, and we will start with it being the color of PASSION!! This shade is a deeper shade of classic and calmness, but still passionate, rich and inviting!

Pair this dark red with…

  • Black (pictured below)
  • White
  • Denim (pictured below)

And if you are daring enough

  • Pink
  • Yellow
  • Orange
  • Purple (pictured below)
  • Blue

So don’t forget to add a touch of PASSION to your closet this year by grabbing up a couple pieces of dark red...and I don’t mean that wine stain on your shirt from the night before!

2. Purple

No I do not mean the color of Barney

Darker shades of purple in your closet this fall season can bring you a sense of CREATIVITY! It is associated with royalty, wealth, and mystery. I mean let my mysterious ways lead me into a new season. Come out on the other side of fall like SURPRISE!!!! I have to say I am already headed into fall right having dyed my hair purple!

But let's talk about what we could pair Purple up with…

  1. Green (pictured below)
  2. Blue
  3. Mustard (pictured below)
  4. Neutrals (pictured below)
  5. And of course DARK RED

So establish a sense of royalty in this new season and bring in various shades of purple. Especially if you are green eyed. Shades of purple on a blouse will bring out the vibrant green in the eyes when reflected from the top.

3. Olive Green

Make that Olive Green as dirty as the martini you plan to rest it in

Let me tell you about the emotions GREEN brings out. It is by far one of my favorite colors that God created. Green is the color of optimism and rejuvenation. It will bring you calmness and relaxation as well. On top of all that the color green is known to manifest wealth. SOO my question again is why wouldn’t you add Olive Green to a piece here and there?

The top two colors to pair Olive Green with are…

  1. Dark Red
  2. Violet

But Grey and Beige do well for this color as well.

I know a lot of people that just are not too fond of the color green. If you are one of those, instead of trying a whole piece in the outfit, try placing it in the accessories. Maybe a bag, earrings, or even your shoes. Wearing the color green in the fall appears as if you are carrying the life of the Spring and Summer along for the ride to finish out the year!!

4. Browns (many shades)
I bet you were wondering where I was going to put these…
Shades of brown make you feel STABLE, earthly and the feeling of support. Being very warm and friendly. However, they are very practical and dependable when it comes to your wardrobe.

You can never go wrong mixing

  1. Black
  2. Army green
  3. Other shades of brown

There is just so much that ties the color or browns into the fall season. The warm season grasses turn brown as the weather grows cooler. The leaves turn shades of brown and begin to fall to the earth. The nuts all the animals start to put back to get them through their winter hibernation. If you sit back and think, brown was the nobody color when growing up, and now...now it is the must have color that everyone will be wearing during falls 2021. It has definitely had its glow up sis!

 Last but not least….
5. Blue
So many shades of it…
This color is the color of RELAXATION (hence why so many of us love love love the beach) and safety. Blue evokes feelings of calmness and spirituality as well as security and trust. Seeing the color blue causes the body to create chemicals that are calming. It makes sense that it is voted the most favored of the colors. Let’s make sure we don’t add too much DARK blue though as it can cause a sense of coldness or disengagement. Light blues give a more relaxing, friendly feel. Two perfect social media site examples are Facebook and Twitter.

You see why I saved this one for last..it goes with a LOT. I am actually going to list combinations with a mixture of different shades of blue that will take the color itself to the next level..

  1. Slate Blue and Rust
  2. Midnight Blue and Black
  3. Navy Blue and Mustard
  4. Moss Green and Sky Blue
  5. Deep Blue and Olive Green
  6. Blue and Mustard
  7. Dark Blue and Orange
  8. Dark Blue and Canary Yellow

Blue is the color that will allow you to transition into fall, but to also transition into the coldest season of them all. Little tidbit of useless knowledge is that the sky is actually bluer in the winter. Yep you heard me right, but if you are like me, I feel it's a little harder to tell because most days it's more of a grey overcast outside.
There are many more beautiful fall colors:
Rose pink
No matter what the big brands or fashion designers are telling you is the latest trend, remember to always be true to yourself and wear the colors that look best on you!! Always consider your personal palette for example, the color of your skin tone, eyes, and hair. They all matter!!
Your best colors are the ones that make you feel beautiful.
